Edgerton recognized for industry contributions

Alumnus William "Bill" Edgerton, E70, was recently recognized by the Underground Construction Association (UCA) for his significant contributions to the industry and to McMillen Jacobs Associates, where he is a principal. UCA's Lifetime Achievement Award honors Edgerton's tremendous impact across his 50-year career in construction.

Edgerton joined McMillen Jacobs, then Jacobs Associates, in 1987, and has been a deeply-respected leader and mentor in the firm's Underground Division for decades. He served as president of the division from 1999-2011 and continued to mentor the division presidents who followed.

Edgerton received his BS in civil engineering from Tufts and an MBA from George Washington University, and has remained closely connected with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Tufts. He is a member of the National Academy of Construction and received the 2012 Golden Beaver Award for Engineering, one of the highest honors in the field of construction and heavy civil engineering.

The 2022 UCA Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented in June during the 2022 North American Tunneling Conference in Philadelphia. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering congratulates Bill on this well-deserved honor! Read more about him and about the award.
